We are living in a time of disruption. Whether in the public or private sphere, this disruption is challenging our existing assumptions and models, leading to new and innovative solutions. As we work in these disruptive times, we must consider our work in evaluation and how it too can evolve.
Fraser Basin Council and Engineers Canada are hosting a workshop on infrastructure adaptation to climate change. This introductory workshop will address the future climate trends for the Upper Fraser region and how these trends will impact infrastructure. The workshop will provide an overview of new practice guidelines for highway infrastructure adaptation, and also explore case studies of assessing climate risk for road transportation and wastewater infrastructure.
The afternoon session will offer participants with information about, and practice with, the PIEVC Protocol. The Protocol is a practical tool and process that uses standard risk assessment science to assess and document the vulnerability of infrastructure to the impacts of current and future climate.

Canada has operated entrepreneur and investor programs to support immigrants’ economic development. Some programs have had difficulties identifying the best immigrant selection criteria, low interest rates, fraud, low immigrant retention rates, the administrative burden of monitoring programs, public concerns about investor programs, and increasing global competition. This webinar provides policy insights and suggestions to help strengthen entrepreneur and investor immigrants’ role in supporting job creation and economic growth in Canada. It is based on a report from the Conference Board of Canada’s Summit in Toronto on Entrepreneur & Investor Immigration on December 6 and 7, 2016. This presentation may also have rural implications in Entrepreneur and Investor retention in rural Canada. View full poster details.
